We don't know where we will be playing, but it will be somewhere on the continental United States. So since there is no show to describe, here's a story for you consideration.THE DECISION I've given up trying to allure human beings with talent, entertainment, wisdom and good manners. I now understand that water will always flow in a predetermined direction no matter how hard you try to influence it's course.
Yesterday I stared at the dog that lives two doors from my house. He is old and has just enough energy to walk to the middle of the street and defecate liberally - always within a foot of the same man-hole cover. I move closer to sit down on the step that separates our property's. He moves toward me and stops to sit just off my right knee as if he know that I have something on my mind.
I ask him, "why do you shit in the street?" He looks to his left, and then to his right as if he wants to be sure that no one is looking or listening to us. Then he looks into my eyes and says "does it really put you out?" I stare, stunned. "Well, my wife has to come out here and clean it up everyday because your human friend is a lazy dirtball that doesn't give two shits about where you drop your diamonds." He hung his (sad?) head to fix his gaze at the pavement. I am now embarrassed and quickly follow, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, I shouldn't have said that." He looks back into my eyes, always into my eyes as if he is speaking to something beyond my physical being, "You are a truthful human and I respect honesty. I will try to hold my excrement until I return to the space behind my house." I stood up and thanked him by name, Walter, and walked to my car that is parked adjacent to his fresh turd-les.
What initially struck me about the interaction was the way Walter said "Excrement". It wasn't so much that he was literate enough to know and understand that word, but more that he pronounced it "ex-cre-mont." A sort of French rendition. Strange, an English Sheepdog born and raised in the U.S.A. sounding Française. I'll need more time to think about that aspect of the conversation, but what really stunned me was how understanding he seemed, and his genuine willingness to change. I'll take him at his word and inspect him on his deed, but I will forever picture Walter wearing a beret while crapping in his own back yard. * * * * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * View Electronic Press Kit (EPK) for Press and Booking Information* * * * * * * * * *
